ATTICA — William Casey Hurst, Jr. 37, formerly of 5438 N. Vine School Road, Attica, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1963 in Lafayette. He married Mary “Diana" Weatherford May 18, 1986 in Winthrop. She survives. He had been a resident of Attica for 13 years. He attended Lafayette Jefferson High School and Ivy Tech. He was a construction worker at Wabash Landing. He was a Golden Gloves Amateur Boxer. Survivors, besides the wife include: two daughters, Ivy Hurst and Casey Hurst and a son, William Hurst, all at home; two sisters, Vivian Eugenia Hurst and Monica Rae Hurst, Lafayette; two brothers, Donald Joe Wheat and Edward Richard Wheat, Lafayette; and his mother, Gladys Vivian (Collins) Gross. He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Struthers; a brother, Randy Wheat; and his father, William Casey Hurst, Sr. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday in Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette. Interment was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. Memorials to Attica Little League and softball. – jlr
